I love your slice -o- life pieces.
Baseball caps hate me too. I look totally ridiculous in them

A Yankees fan? ouch.
I have the opposite problem with hats (well, not hats because I hate wearing hats and therefore don’t own any) - I always have to adjust helmets to the smallest possible setting. I remember one mountain biking trip when I was forced to wear a kiddie helmet because I was the only one it would fit. It’s very hard to feel hard-core when you’re wearing a bright pink helmet with cheerful flowers on it.

i have the small head problem as well. it’s weird because my head looks big, but it’s not. i was volunteering as a chaperone for kids going horseback riding and i was at least 5 years older than the oldest kid. i ended up with a kid helmet and some of the kids had adult larges.

hat head…enough said!
I despise baseball caps.
Naturally, they despise me with an equal amount of hatred that I sometimes wonder whether or not there is an entire conspiracy against me wearing one by the great "United Coalition of Baseball Caps". The problem, perhaps, lies more with the absurdness of my head size, one that leads many of my friends who try on my one-size-for-all caps to end up having to unlock those little buttons at the back several times smaller. It's embarrasing, really, to see friends put on your baseball cap and have it sink below their eyes.
There is, however, one baseball cap that I have not discared as of yet, one that I purchased back in New York. I believe it was on the day of our outing in Grade 8 to see a baseball game at Yankee Stadium. (Somewhat amazingly, I still have the ticket:
$7.50 Tier Reserved Rain Check
Yankee Stadium
Price incl. City/St Tax
NEW YORK YANKEES (in larger letters)
vs. BOSTON RED SOX
Wed Jun 14, 2000 1:05PM
And while I didn't stay for the entire 9 innings, I did end up hearing the Red Sox won, which was truly unfortunate.
Anyhow, the whole intent of this post was how I procured this particular navy-blue and white Yankee baseball cap, and I truthfully do not recall. (I do, however, remember that at the entrance we got one of those Yankees team sunglasses, but I had a hard time using them over my own glasses).
Perhaps I had bought this cap outside, at a cheap stand on the streets of New York for a mere $5.00. Or rather I had gotten it at the game, a compensation of sorts since I had stoutly refused to buy the hot-dogs and soda that was so astronomically expensive.
But perhaps what's most memorable of it all is that I can still see, in faded ballpoint pen, written in such a fashion on the baseball cap's "bill" so as to be able to read it by moving your eyes upwards, the words:
"Yankees Rule"
