Ever since Project Haiti was unveiled people have expressed the desire to have the type of visualization applied to other keywords as well. I'm excited to share TwitterNow:

The reason why it takes a bit of time to render is because it's doing some wizardry in the backend, converting user-provided locations into latitude and longitude coordinates (which, incidentally, Twitter does not provide as part of their API). Furthermore, TwitterNow is a non-SSH solution, using just cURL and PHP. This differentiates it largely from existing solutions like (which is still a fantastic resource). Have fun with it and let me know what you discover!
Added: I wasn't sure if my script wasn't working correctly, but 140kit confirms the fact that there apparently seems to be far fewer #packers fans than #steelers fans on Twitter. The first image is from 140kit, you can see it on Twitter now for the Steelers and for the Packers.
