Feb 18, 2012 | Wiimote hack converts any surface into a “touch” screen

I took some time to implement Johnny Chung Lee’s 2007 Wiimote hack and it was surprisingly easy to deploy. I’m hoping to make the pens a lot more comfortable to use, but as a first run of the prototype, it seems very promising. The setup is incredibly simple: all you need is a Wiimote (no projector) and a computer capable of receiving Bluetooth input. The pen can be made using an IR sensor and two watch batteries (as shown below). It does end up looking a bit like sorcery, so invite you to check it out for yourselves.
